Loosing history because of BP changes

Hi All,

We are on EBP 3.5 and are using our HR org structure as the basis of our EBP structure(using the standard replication program RHALEINI to replicate the HR structure into EBP via transaction PFAL).

The problem that we seem to be having is with regards to Business partner changes.

Sometimes OM structure changes in HR causes users in EBP to loose their relationships to their current business partner.

The problem comes in that, although the system creates a new one automatically, it would seem that all the history (attachments etc.) to the old shopping carts, PO's etc. seems to be lost. The user can see the status of their shopping carts etc. but cant seem to drill down into the detail of these to view attachments etc.

We think their it has something to do with the fact that if their is a relational change the HR system the valid from and to date changes between the position and person which causes the system to create a new BP.

Is there no way that we can link the two business Partners, so as to not loose the history of prior purchases, or is their a way we can retrieve the history?

We are on all the applicable support packs for our release and have implemented all relevant notes to note 550555.
