MDM Print Publisher installation

We have MDM 7.1 SP07. MDS is on HPUX (Linux0 ver 11.31.

We want to install MDM Publisher.

Can we install MDM Layout Server (MDLS) on linux??. I checked MDM master guide and it seems like it can be done only on Windows server. Pls suggest

Hi Rajesh,

Unfortunately it is not possible to install MDM layout server on any OS other than Windows.

Also, while Installation of layout server, SAPInt looks for MDM server profile directory. So, if your MDM server is running on some server other than on which you are installing MDM layout server OR your MDM server is running on Unix then in such case you will have below two options:

1. mount/share MDM server profile directory with the layout server.

2. Install a dummy MDM server (without DB) with the same system id on the layout server.

We had this kind of landscape i.e. MDM server running on unix and we faced many challenges in installation of layout server.

We went for second option, as basis team was not happy and didn't agree with directory mount from Unix to Windows option.
