Why Hard Deletion is allowed in SD Module ?

In SD module user can delete outbound delivery & Sales order. This data can't be retrieved back whereas in MM user can delete the transactional data but still history is maintained in respective Table.

Can anybody explain why hard deletion is allowed in SAP SD?

Hi

You can avoid it with authorizations. For instance, you can use the object V_VBAK_AAT for SO and V_LIKP_VST for deliveries.

Hi,

If we do so then user can't make any changes in SO/OBD.

Hi

For instance, in PFCG for some or all users, add V_VBAK_AAT and you set this permission for this object:

ACTVT = 01, 02, 03, 05, 24, 25, 43, C1, C2, C3, C4

AUART = *

ie: in ACTVT all flags less 06 (delete) and * in AUART means that it's for all types of documents.

After, check it and try to delete it. If you run SU53 after tcode deny you to delete it you could see that you don't have permissions to delete the SO.

I hope this helps you

Hi

Yes. But remember that some users will need to archive (or delete) this kind the documents in the future.

PD: I forgot. Use SU24, investigate and check. For instance, you can use the object V_VBAK_VKO to do the same but by sales org. (for instance, some people can see, create or modify documents for sales org AA but not for others and so on).
