Dear Vinayak,
As Rahul suggested , only method to do it is by table edit in se16n.
But the issue is , i assume you might have already assigned this sales document type to sales area.
If so, this also have to be edited.
However, it is not advisable to do table edit as is it not recommended by SAP and it will not be supported by SAP if incase some issues arise because of this table editing.
Hence please copy this sales document type and rename it.
Then delete the old entry.(assumption: there are no documents created yet )
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Vinayak,
Please note you can make the changes by debugging:-
- Go to SE16
- Enter the table name TVAK, press enter
- Enter the desired document type, where you want to change the document type
- Select the details and click on display icon
- then start the debugger, by pressing "/h" in command bar
- again press the enter, it will take you to debug screen
- Below left hand side field name enter "CODE" and press enter
- then opposite to field name "CODE" replace the code "SHOW" to "INSR" double click on near the pencil icon.
- press "F8"
- now you can edit the sales document type as you require.
Note:- This is not the right practice to do all time.
Thanks & Regards,
Rahul Verulkar

Hi
Yes you can do it in VOV8. Copy xxyy and rename it as xyxy then save.
You can delete xxyy later.
