Result recording for inspection lot

Dear All;

While I am trying to record the results for a certain inspection lot, the following message appears:

Characteristic results cannot be recorded for inspection lot 010000000057

Message no. QE181

Diagnosis

You cannot record any characteristic results for this inspection lot. The material master has been set up for the existing inspection type in such a way that results recording is not supported.

Procedure

Confirm defects for this inspection lot or select another inspection lot in which you can confirm the characteristic results.

And this inspection lot has been created due to receipt of PO, so I have defined the inspection type 01"Goods receipt due to Purchase order" in the material master, and also define Inspection plan for this material with Usage 05 "Goods receipt" but the Inspection lot has the status "Plan/specific. required" So I do think that it doesn't see the inspection plan, So please advice??

Hi rahman,

Iam sure the status is CRTD not released.

Now follow what Sujit & Shyamal said and also check the lot generation data and Quality plan valid from date.

Here the quality plan date should be before the lot generation date. only then the plan will be assigned and the sample will be calculated.

If you have created the Quallity plan after the generation of Lot then create a task list with valid from date previous to the lot generation date, go to QA02 and manually assign the plan. The status will automatically change to REL and you can do the results recording.

Please revert back for clarifications if any.

The problem was the validity of the inspection plan, the valid from date was after the goods receipt date.

The material master is not set up to allow results recording. Mos tlikely as already indicated, this is probably becasue the "check charac" was not ticked on when the inspection lot was created.

You can however record defects and/or make the UD on the lot if you want to process the material.

If you need to record results, use MBST to cancel the receipt and inspectoin lot. Fix the material master and create/assign an inspection plan to the material.. Then redo the receipts.

Hello,

Pls check followings,

In material master for this particular inspection type the check the activation of below check boxes.

Inspection with Task List

Inspect with Material Specification

Inspection Specifications from Configuration

Any one of above must be activated.

along with this check the activation for Check Chars

If everything is fine at Material Master level then go to inspection lot QA02

check the status for the lot, it must be REL

Some Task list should be assigned to it

In QM view inspection type check " check char " is ticked or not.

If it is iticked then you meust have task list in place with relelvent usage..

If it is not ticked then you can not record result unless you tick.

Also note that status of inspection lot should be REL & not CRTD.
