Configuration material

Hi,

Generally we get

"Configuration not possible for material XYZ : Reason 3 --> Help"

this error for configurable items but the for which we are getting this error is "NON Configurable" Item.

What can be probable reason for this?

all the thread is avilable for this error if material is configurable.

but our material non configurable still we are geting this error.

Hi Anup,

please check the following settings

1. Check in the material master " Item Category group " field It should not be "0002 or 0004

2. Check in the material master it should not assign any Variant class under Classification

3. Check the Item Category you should not maintain the Bill of Material / Configuration ( T-Code VOV7) , it should be empty details

4. Check your item category Determination using T-Code VOV4

please try to check above steps which are related to configuration

Hi,

You are getting this message because your item category is applicable for variant configuration.

Goto VOV4 and check the item category getting determined.

Change the item category group in your material and add a new entry in VOV4 T.Code with new item item category which is not applicable for variant configuration.

In this case,system is trying to identify characteristics for your material based on the item category assigned.But there are no characteristics.So you are receiving this message.

Hi aNup,

The system determines whether a material is configurable or not by the item category, For item categories 0002 and 0004 the system considers it as configurable.

Please check if you have used the correct item category.
