Unable to do Web Gui test service

Dear All,

I have freshly installed ECC 6 Ehp 5 ABAP system. In which I am trying to test service Web Gui. But i am unable to do so when i do test service i get the page for Logon but when i click on logon nothing happens.

Things i have done

1)Checked ICM is working in Tx SMICM

2)Put fully qualified hostname parameter in RZ10

3)Activated the service in SICF

4)Run W3_PUBLISH_SERVICES through se38

The url it is calling is http://<hostname>:8000/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=001

Am I missing any step. Please help

The issue got resolved by changing the parameters Keep alive and Proc. timeout in SMICM from 60 to 180.

Review each of the steps:

-> Section 5."Test the general ICF/ICM functionality:"

http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/echo

Republish the core ITS Services, WEBGUI, SYSTEM if need be after this:

Then delete the Template and MIME Cache afterwards via transaction

/nSITSPMON -> Template and MIME Cache -> Select "System Wide"

for the MIME and Templates.

Then retest the WEBGUI:

o Start transaction SICF

o Open the corresponding tree nodes for the service you would like to

test i.e webgui

transaction /nsicf > default host ->

sap -> bc -> gui -> sap -> its -> webgui

o Select Test service from context menu of the service node

i.e: Right Click -> Test Service

This will launch the webgui service in the browser - from here logon

to system again.

If you still cannot logon after this. What are the GUI Congfiguration settings in SICF for the WEBGUI service, and the Handler Class used?
