I have one query related to periodic billing,my client is into the renting the equipment so he requires the periodic billing.my query is that ther are 2option
1) I can create rental contract using order type MV through T code- VA41
But my concern is we are using the delivery process to show the inventory movement from one storage loc to customer location. So I need to copy the same rental order and then create the Sales order then delivery.
2) I can create the sales order directly jus attaching the billing plan to order type OR and item cat.
Kindly suggest which one is suitable.
And what is the difference if we use MV order type and OR for standard

Hi,
If you use a rental contract, you will have to create sales orders everytime you want to bill the customer and subsequently follow the sales cycle steps.
I would suggest creating a std order OR with billing plan, wherein you may enter the start and end date according to the validity period and create billing documents for each period.
I believe inventory movement from storage locn to customer location would be a one time activity.
