Hello,

We are planning to upgrade our Oracle from 10.2.0.5 to 11.2. for our ECC 6.0 (EHP 3) system

We are in planning stage and one fundamental doubt that I have is this :

Lets say we upgrade the development system today and we plan to upgrade our QA next week and Prdo the week after that.

Can I move changes (Transports) from dev to Prod after Dev is upgrade to 11g and Prod is still in 10.2.0.5?

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, you can do the transports.

The transport environment is not only database bit independent, it is rather than that even database version and even database platform independent. As long as the transport tools are installed in the correct bit-version on each of your systems, there will be no problems in transporting in between R3 systems, where the database runs with different bit-versions.

Thanks

Sunny

Thank you Sunny.

I can't think of any other repercussions of having Dev and prod on different DB versions.

Can you please confirm, if there are any other risks?

Hi,

As such there is no risk, it is documented in SAP note 192822 (point no 15).

Thanks

Sunny
