HI Experts,
I am on MDM 7.1 SP5 and we are using the import server to load the data
PI has send the file to the inbound ready folder and it is not picked by the Import server
Following are the checks i have done
1. Checked the exception folder and there is no issues
2. Checked the port status and it is not blocked. It shows "Has Data"
3. Checked the Import Server status through Console and it is running
4. I have kept the password of the MDIS same as MDS and restrated , but still it is not working
Can u please help me to identify is there any thing which i missed
Still Import server is not picking up the files. Please advice
Regards,
Antony

thanks

Hi All,
Thanks for the reply.
As i stated earlier, in console i have kept the Password same for both MDS & MDIS for the repository
I am on 7.1, so it can be done through Console and not necessary on MDIS.ini
Below given is the MDIS log. Please advice
Server is listening on port 59750.
ConnectionAcceptor::ConnectionAcceptor(): bind() failed with errno=0x00000043 'Address already in use'

Antony
Hi,
Hope you followed the note mentioned in my last post.
Please can you also check if your import server is running on same port as MDM server. If YES, then please change the port for MDIS. MDM 7.1 MDS, MDIS and MDSS should run on the separate port.
kindly check below notes to update the port if MDS, MDIS and MDSS are running on same port.
Note 1499138 - MDM servers listening ports.
Note 1414670 - MDM 7.1: Adjusting MDS port in MDIS and MDSS ini files
Revert with your findings.

Hi Shiv,
Thanks for the reply..
I have checked the Ports of MDS, MDIS, MDSS and all are having different port numbers
The intersting part is MDS, MDIS, MDSS port code is shared by both Dev and QA
i.e MDS - 12345 - Same for both Dev and QA
In QA it works absolutely fine but not in Dev
I haev gone through as per ur previous note but couldnt able to crack
Please advice is there any thing which i missing
Regards,
Antony
Hi Antony,
I did some research and Looks like the port mentioned for MDIS is already in use by some other application.
I found "Note 1295658 - Can not start MDS on Unix platforms". This note also mentions same error which you are getting in your logs. error code could be different as this is for MDS and Unix platforms, but error text is same.
Please check the note for reasons and solution for this error. Hope this will helps.
Regards,
Shiv
HI Antony,
As Sravan rightly pointed out mount the MDIS and reset the password. This password is at repository level.
MDIS will not pick a file if its size is very big,and also when if xml does not have all the rights "All users".
Posting log will be a great help to analyse the error.
Thanks,
Ravi

Hi Antony,
Please mount the import server through the auxiliary server and select your repository and make sure that the user and pwd are rightly mentioned there.
If that is not set, then the automatic import will not happen.

Sravan

Please check the Server logs and paste logs here related to port with which you are facing issue. This will help to analyze the issue.
Issue could be because of file extension. Please try by changing the case of file extension i.e. from upper case to lower case or vice versa.
Please also check below note for other possibilities
"Note 1006149 - Files in the Ready folder are not loaded with Import Server"
