Lock of production orders by inspection lot

Hello,

we are facing a problem with inspection lots which lock our production orders.

The problem here is that the period of the inspection is very long and for this period the production order is locked.

This leads to problems in APO, because the locked orders stay in the CIF-interface and couldn´t be processed to R/3.

My question is:

Is there a way that the order isn´t locked even if an inspection is in progress?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,

Veit

Hi Veit,

If you want to proceed without the UD then u can activate long term Inspections in MIC and make a UD for Further Processing.

The results can be recorded when the testing is done. this can happen even after the UD is made.

I.e the UD is made for the lot but the results can be recorder later also.

Hello ganapathialluri,

ok, that sounds good.

But if I do the inspection later, is the order locked during this time, or not?

With thanks,

Hi Veit,

Orders will be unlocked if you do a UD.

But the results recording can be done any time.

I will give you my example.

We have 3 sets of MIC's i.e Physical, biological & Chemical tests.

Physical & Chemical will be done in 1 day and biological tests will take 7 days for complete testing.

So we have activated all Biological tests as long term and based on the Physical & Chemical we are making the UD.

Now the order can be processed further.

When the Biological tests are done, we are updating the same in Results recording after 1 week.

please check and revert back for Clarifications if any.
