Quotation: Can we copy a QT into a QT so that we have QT history?

Dear Gurus,

I have tried copying a Quotation into another one with no avail.

This is my business scenario:

I want to be able to keep an history - quotation by quotation until I confirm the final one with my customer.

So again each time the customer phones me in and ask for a quote on various items or services I want to be able to record that data so that when he decided to confirm or infirm the quotation that will later becomes a sales order, I have an history.

That history will also help me to an extend forecasts certain trends in the system.

So I want to achieve the following things:

1- Keep a scroll down quotation history until final confirmation for tracking purposes.

2- Define a QT reason if possible in case the customer decides for example to buy from the competitor.

- So QT reason could be: "Better deal with competitor" or else.

I haven't used copy control as yet, could anyone help me set this up?

I want to be able to keep an history

The easiest way to achieve this is you add as a new line item in that quotation instead of creating a new quotation .
