SPM not ableto accept special characters coming from flat file

Hi

We are trying to load the master data descriptions which has non ascii / special character from the source system.

we have made the RSKC setting as ALL_CAPITALS_PLUS_HEX.

the data loaded and the out put in the SPM report is very different for these non ascii characters.

help us remove the differences in the description between source and SPM.

we have the system set to unicode / lang pack installed.

the data is being loaded with LANGU column as E.

but is the flat file has Non Ascii characters the data being loaded in different from the flat file data.

As mentioned previously please check to see if the data is being successfully into the BW system. Also is the flat file UTF-8 type?

Hi Malathi,

Please make sure these special characters have successfully loaded into the SPM data model or master data. Please run either BW reports to confirm this or just look up the master data using SAP GUI. Secondly for the BW system to accept this characters make sure you BW system is unicode and that your database supports these characters.

Once you confirm the above, the SPM UI should display the characters. I just recently posted a blog of language support for SPM which has more details on the different description for master data that can be rendered in the UI.
