I have portal (netweaver 7.0 Java) running in the lan for my company, but need run portal in the WAN (internet). How see the best practices for this escenarios?
it is necessary run portal in WAN with Web Dispatcher??
The protocol portal must http or https??
Thanks for help
Hi,
It is always advisable to install web dispatcher when you need to put your portal on internet for security reasons as with web dispatcher you will be able to hide your port and hostname details.
HTTPS communication you should use in web dispatcher and communication between web dispatcher and portal.
Thanks

Hi,
You need to install web dispatcher in your landscape and then point it towards the portal.
The documentation you need to check is Web Dispatcher installation guide. You can download this form http://service.sap.com/instguides --> SAP Netweaver --> (Select your netweaver version). Then under the category Installation, select the folder "Installation - Standalone Engines."
Here you can find the relevant installation guide for Web Dispatcher. The guide will also explain the config part.

Hi,
You have to ask this question to your company security team.
Most likely, they will require at least one (if not 2) reverse proxy in a DMZ.
You probably need to buy a signature for an SSL certificate from a well known Cartification Authority.
