We have a Java system installed in MSCS cluster environment.
We have the SCS instance on a virtual IP.
The CI & DI are on the local nodes A & B respectivly.
We have configured the SLD on the CI node.
Is it possible to have one more SLD configured on the DI node as a backup?.As of now if the node B fails the SLD will be unavailable.
Thanks
dev
My first question to you is what system you are using for SLD? is that PI 7.1?
Please reply this and I will tell you in detail how can you make your SLD in HA.
we have same setup.

If you read the document, there is only one SLD, you need to use web dispatcher for that and web dispatcher should also be on HA to use this.
Thanks
Sunny
Hi Dev,
SLD is only one and can be pointing to either CI or DI.
So you need to point your SLD to a virtual name which inturn will divert the traffic either to CI or DI according to your load balancer configuration.
For load balancing there are multiple software/hardware appliances like Web Dispatcher or BIG IP hardware load balancer etc.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.
Please do let me know for any queries.

Rajesh
Hi,
There is no settings of making SLD as highly available. If your system is on HA which will in turn means SLD will be up if system will move on other nodes.
Thanks
Sunny
