Currency conversion - Document and Local grouped into Global for reporting

Former Member

Hi All,

By default in SPM 2.1, it appears that Spend (Local) and Spend (Document) are grouped into Spend (Global) for reporting and only visible when completing currency conversion.

Document and Local can be made visible for dragging in by removing the check "Set" in the Measure properties in the "Currency/Unit" tab for each.

What advantages are offered by keeping this "Set" selected?

Also does it matter if the associated measures aren't selected in that same screen? Can't I just drag in Spend (Document) and get that value anyway?

Kind regards,

Neil

Hi Neil,

Yes, you are right the 'Set' property associates local & document currency with the global currency of a measure. Basically not displaying it in the measure tab of a report design. This was introduced to reduce the clutter in the measure tab, because if you introduce multiple currency for each measure the list would be too huge. Keep in mind that for local currency you need to specify what is the target currency to which the system needs to translate the measure to.

There is no harm in turning this property off and making the measure visible if its commonly used by your business community.

Regards,

Rohit
