Assign method for Spool Devices at RZ20

Hello

I want to monitor Spool devices at RZ20 but I don't know wich method I need to assign to begin the monitoring. Can you help me?

The method that I found is located in R3Services\Spool\Devices and its standard

Hi there,

You do not have to assign data collection methods in RZ20 for spool device data collection. But for each device you must go to transaction SPAD --> [Change] --> click on the device --> go to the "output attributes" tab --> select the [X] Monitor using monitoring architecture checkbox.

Then you will start to see statistics for the spool device

Spool System

--> Spool Servers

--> SID\hostname_SID_nn

--> Spool

--> Devices

--> DEST

--> LPQ_time (only valid for access method L, I think)

--> Pages/min

--> Message

If I recall, even after data is collected you will not see a data collection method assigned. That is because these MTEs are populated by the spool work process itself (a so-called "active data collector" rather than the usual short-runner or long-runner).

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible for these Spool Devices to use auto-reaction methods?

What do you want to monitor ? What is the intention of monitoring spool devices ?
