1) Do the .svd logs go in the saparch directory?

2) What parameter do I change in init<SID>.sap to make the .svd logs go to saparch or another directory?

3) Where can I get documentation on the variables in init<SID>.sap?

Hi Bill,

>> What parameter do I change in init<SID>.sap to make the .svd logs go to saparch or another directory?

You can change saparch trace (for example ".svd") destination by referring another path to SAPARCH environment variable.

Check the Note 651812 - FAQ: BR*TOOLS and SAPDBA and read the statement, below;

If you want to use a directory other than the standard
 directories, you must set the SAPBACKUP, SAPARCH, SAPCHECK
 or SAPREORG environment variables.

Depending on the action you have executed, SAPDBA log files
 are also stored in one of these directories.

Hi Bill,

Yes, for sure it will be in saparch

No need to adjust init<SID>.sap just use brarchive -u / -sd

check this link for detail about brarchive
