Hi Folks,

Is it possible to create partial inspection lot in Source inspection.

We are going to receive the material in partial qty from vendor. hence we need to generate partial inspection lot?

Can anyone throw light on this.

Source inspection does not support partial lots & partial clearance/UD of lots.

What you can do is have multiple line items for the same material with QTy equals to partial lot qty.you will get different lots QI07.

Hi,

Generating Inspection Lots: It all depends on the QM settings you made in the QM View of Material Master.

However, it doesn't matter. You can still work with Source Inspection. Inspection lot will be generated based on the lead time set - when PO is released. Source Inspection Lot is NOT a stock relevant one. Hence, it won't be a problem. When all inspection is done and results recorded and UD made, you receive the Delivery which is MIGOed. Can you brief me further.

Because after creating the source inspection in Qi07, im not able to generate the 2nd inspection lot.

Im not maintaining any lead time in Quality info record.

True partial lots are only typically support in production 03 inspection lots. Not in 01 receipts.

You can get mutliple inspection lots based on receipts depending on the control inspection lots set up in the inspection type in the material master.

But you can't do that for source inspections since these are created by a batch job and not a receipt.

So for your specific question, no.

Now if your question is that you want another lot generated when the material is acutally received, that is a different question.

Hi,

There is a check box to disable/enable inspn lot generation at GR in Quality Info Record.

With this, you can generate another inspn lot - (if necessary) during GR.

Hi Krishna,

By enabling the check box, we can generate the inspection lots during GR based upon the quantities. But i need to get inspection lots in QI07 only.

As stated by several folks already, you can't create multiple lots via QI07, source inspections. The best you van do is one lot per order item of the PO.
