Can anyone help on possiblites of bulding change types for ECR in regard to DMS.

Could you please spell out your requirements in detail? How is the control for change type you wish to achieve for ECM via DMS?

Can anyone help on possiblites of bulding change types for ECR in regard to DMS.

Engineering change management process in SAP using ECR/ECO process and the document change process in SAP DMS work hand in hand. You use Change types mainly to,

1. Define & control the flow of the change process.

2. Define the Flow individually at a object level i.e. documents, BOMs, routing etc

3. Define custom status profiles and assign them to change types s for few specific cases.

4. Define signature process and or flows and digital signatures, signature networks as required.

Also please note that ECR / ECO process has considerably changed with the latest 7.01 release so if you are considering upgrade any time soon you better finish your SAP system upgrades before embarking on the ECM implementation.
