Hi Guys,
I am developing an leave request application, once employee fills the details in application and clicks on submit button.. One request id should be created for tracking purposes.
In standard, leave request id will maintain in PTREQ_HEADER TABLE..
NOW, In my submit button action, how can we create a new request id and it should be update in database.

Why not use the standard leave request WDA and process?

just not using the standard WDA doesn't mean that you don't have to pay the licences! Any ESS type use of an SAP system (even if you were using Sharepoint as your UI for example) still leaves you liable for ESS licence costs.
Only way I've seen so far that side steps the licensing requirement (and I have to say I don't think you want to try to do this) is to maintain a shadow repository which is updated to SAP in a scheduled manner (job running every 5 mins). In this case you are not paying ESS user licences but a license for interfacing to a 3rd party HR system. Any synchronous access to the employee records is going to incur an ESS licence cost...
And as always the disclaimer - talk to your local SAP rep - they can do wonderful deals for you, everyone's deal is different!
Chris,
here HR payroll is also from SAP only.
Client gave the requirement that.. have to develop 4 custom applications like leave request, travel expense request, invest declarations and personal information...
So i am here to develop those.
As of now, they are not using any kind of ESS Apps.
Please let me know ifyou have any idea how to do my actual query?

Hi Srinivas,
I know exactly how to do your query - you use the standard ESS leave application process.
As I have said - building your own ESS applications does not exempt you from paying ESS user licences - especially as you are intending to use standard ESS tables as part of your custom application.
Go back to your customer - explain to them that if they want to use ESS-like functionality that allows their employees to enter leave requests then they will be liable for SAP ESS licences. If they are going to have to pay this cost, then they should take advantage of the standard applications SAP provides. Customising the standard applications to work for you is a lot less work than building your own applications.
If you do not know how to implement the standard services (they are not the simplest things to use - they don't all work "out of the box") then I can suggest [Martin Gillet's new book which is available from SAP Press|http://www.sap-press.com/products/Configuring-and-Customizing-Employee-and-Manager-Self%252dServices-in-SAP-ERP-HCM.html].
If I were you I'd not want to work for a client that was knowingly trying to defraud SAP. I doubt that they are - but as a responsible consultant I'd want to ensure that the client knew what it was they were asking for.
Hope this helps you, I don't really want to go into a detailed discussion on how the standard ESS leave process works, buy Martin's book - it's full of helpful tips in this regard.
Cheers,
Chris
