Differences between edit mode and display mode

Hi experts,

I am new in webdynpro ABAP tools and it is possible that my question is a 'normal' functionality but for me it is a strange behaviour.

I have a standard ALV in SAP-PPM tool, I modify in our customizing system a global view ( and I see changed in edit mode and in non-edit mode), changes stored in a transport request. I copy it to other client ( same system) and I see correctly the changes. I transport this change to quality system and I cannot see the changes ( I see standard settings). I try to edit in in qulity system (&sap-config-mode=X) the changes appears. In edit mode the settings are different than in non-edit mode.

How is it possible? I have found this information , can my problem be related to global variants?
