NetWeaver 7.3 Initial Setup

Hello All,

Installed PI Netweaver 7.3 and doing post installation steps using Configuration Wizard.

First of all there is no "NetWeaver Initial Setup" found instead "Newton Initial Setup". Is this typing mistake from SAP? or different configuration??

When I started doing configuration process, getting always "Error: Application server host name cannot be null of empty"

Your suggestions in this regard is highly appreciated!

I am getting similar problem but I am not getting further details where exactly wizard is looking for the host name details.

Error: Application server host cannot be null or empty

Kindly help.

Hi, maybe a bit late for you, guys.

But I didn't find an answer, so I had to investigate:

"Application server host cannot be null or empty" error in configuration wizard means there is a problem with accessing SLD.

Make sure system you are configuring is connected to SLD and "Collect data and send" works.

In my case it was after PI upgrade from 7.00 to 7.40 (still dual stack).

While ABAP's instance SLD connect worked fine, Java's not.

Solution was adaptation of SCS profile MS parameters - un-hash:

#ms/standalone = 1

#ms/server_port_0 = PROT=HTTP,PORT=81$$

I know that Newton is a transaction for Mathematical Tests... but your question make me doubt about a typing mistake, specially consider that 7.3 is a new release...

We now run into exactly the same issue:
