Sales Order Issue: No system response after maintain material number

Hello Expert,

I have created a new sales order type.

Data entry was OK, until I maintain the material master is sales order.

There was no system response and I am not able to proceed.

I couldn't figure out the problem.

Please assist.

Dear HJMY,

You stated you created a new order type. Please check the following in transaction VOV8:

The setting Item no.increment (TVAK-INCPO) should not have a zero value.

Please review knowledge based article 1565075 for more details on this.

I have maintained the item no increment in the sales order config.

There was no error message prompted by the system. After I maintain the material number, the process just hangs. The system indicates that processing is on going, but there is no response after that. That is why I am at a lost (no error messages).

Please assist.

It could be due to some indexing problem. You may check in ST22 or take the help of your basis guy.

I have found the root cause.

I have checked my config again and found that the item no increament is the issue indeed.

Your issue is not clear with the description given.

If you mean that after entering the material in the sales order, you are not able to proceed, please see the message below in the information bar and act accordingly.
