User security policy

Hello experts,

We have NW Portal 7.00 and we use abap system as a UME.I mean all users stored in abap db.I want to use security policy for users.I set validity of the password 30 days to expire but it does not work.I also checked Allow Users to Change Their Own Passwords,Enforce Password Security Policy at Logon and restart server.I know it works if I use java as a UME. Do you have any suggestion?
