710 and office 2010

Hello All,

I've reviewed the notes 66941 and other related ones and 710 gui windows is clearly out of support.

We still have GUI 710 running, but there are plans of office upgrade to 2010. So can gui 710 work in conjunction with 2010 office.

We ran into issues with the BEX Browser and not working correctly with Office 2010 in testing (Using SAP GUI 7.10). We also came across a few issues between downloading to Excel through 7.10 into Office 2010.

If you are going to Office 2010, I highly advise moving to SAP GUI 7.20.

BEX 3.5 is not supported.

Microsoft Office 2010

Microsoft Office 2010 is supported as of SAP GUI for Windows 7.20. For the

time being, Microsoft Office 2010 is supported in the 32-bit version only

(for more detailed information about this, see Note 1442028).

We have faced two issues:

1. SmartForms editor throws a strange error (can't recall the text) - I suspect due to it being MS Word -based

2. The functionality to export ALV data to Excel fails

We are actively working on upgrading and have not yet confirmed 720 will fix these problems, but I am fairly certain they will!!

did you activate the XXL export? (see Note 1125812 - SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN: Activating the XXL format)

Furthermore you could try Note 1113566 - ABAP ALV: Incorrect entry in export dialog when exporting

We didnt got any errors using SAP GUI 7.10 and Office 2010 (32bit!)

Please keep in mind that BEx 3.5 is not working (install the Business Explorer instead) and if you use Office 2010 64bit it wont work correct either.
