Can DIRs be changed to a different doc type?

I have 110 records that were all created under the wrong doc type. Is there a way to convert them to a different doc type other than recreating from scratch? It is shocking to me to think this may not be possible. Sorry I do not know what version of DMS I am working with. I am an end user and we've had the same system for about 9 yrs. Thank you.

Hello unfortunately there is no such capability out of box. Doc type is set only once while the document is created and cannot be changed. May be if you choose use a custom program to carefully overide it or delete those DIR's and create them from scratch again

If the Document type is wrongly entered, it cannot be corrected, because they are so many carecterstics assosiated with that like

Document Number

File Size

Class Type

Class

Default Appl

& Field Selection.

So simply delete the file and up-load it again in the correct document type catagory, where versions are to maintained to capture all the new updates along with the old one.
