Check over maximum stock level

Hi,

We have maintained maximum stock level in 'Material Master'.

We want a check by which system will not allow to post the Goods Receipt if maximum stock level is reached.

How this can be done?

This maximum stock level field is used for MRP run and not for the purpose you think it is for, the MRP run will restrict the planning to this maximum level if the requirement turns out to be higher than this amount. This is the only purpose for this field.

HI,

The Maximum stock level in material master is used for MRP Run.

i.e if you use the lot sizing procedure as HB & if you maintain max.stock level as say 500. then suppose if your current stock is say 100, then system will trigger a PR for 400 quantities when you do a MRP run for the material using MD02 in the plant.

System wont consider the same @ the time of goods receipt.

If you don't want GR to happen over a certain quantity, you can use the over delivery functionality in PO so that system wont allow to do GR for more than the tolerance limit.
