Blank shipping point in return order

Hi all,

I have a scenario where we are NOT going to get the return goods to my plant but want to create return order and Invoice with out delivery.

Since we are not receiving goods to our location, Is the right thing to do on Return order is not to have shipping point/S.loc and route?

It is actually copying the S.Loc value from Invoice and thinking about blanking out, waiting for your opinion.

Just check that in RE document type the shipping condition , remove that make it blank .

Hi, check if new movement type without stocks update/value update. and keep shipping poing, so there will not impact anything of having created delivery for return orders.

In normal circumstances, for return order, we would be having a separate storage location. Nevertheless, there is nothing wrong in having the same storage location and shipping point in return order and still you can generate credit note.

If thats the case, then why dont you just create a credit memo based on the invoice and settle it rather than having to create a return order when you are not actually getting the goods back.

Is there any specific reason why u want to create a return order and then invoice without creating a return delivery?

Hi,

If you creating return sales order and invoicing on this basis is FINE

But the storage location is copying from invoice to return order that is also ok, as no need to blank it as you are not going to do return delivery.

And as far as my understanding it will make any conflict for any report.

Thanks for the response, Yes there are some reports which are getting impacted because of populating Storage location and Shipping point in the return order even though there is no delivery getting created.

So just wanted to know from the process the perspective, is it correct to have Shipping point and Storage location on order when there is no delivery getting created.

If there is no delivery and sales order have shipping point and storage location then it is ok.

If you don't want and removed then it will appear in in completion log then you have to remove it from incomplete log also
