Compatibility certification between crystal reports & crystal server vers.

Hi there,

We are looking to virtualise our crystal reports server and keen to upgrade key components while this oppurtunuity exists. However, we cannot upgrade crystal reports client and crystal reports server at the time (resources limited).

Can we upgrade crystal reports server and update crystal reports client at a later period? our crystal reports client is 11.0.0.1282 (crystal report XI) and our newly upgraded version of crystal reports server is 6.0.6001.18000 (crystal reports 2008). Is there a support document which certifies compatibility between both product versions?

Server and client must be of the same version.

Server v 11 will be able to run reports created in CR 2008... As long as the reports do not use any new features introduced in CR 2008.

I would recommend either going with v 11 or v 2008. Going 1/2 way is asking for problems.

Re a "a support document which certifies compatibility between both product versions?"

I am not aware of one.
