Hi All,
We have recently installed BPC 7.5 for Netweaver on the same host as our ERP 6.0 system. This ERP 6.0 itself is backend for the BPC.
The host in on Windows 2003 64bit with AMD processors.
We have done all required configurations as the installation guide. And were able to successfully launch BPC and also pull data from the backend.
Now the issue is that when we are trying to assign users by clicking on Add new user, we are getting a pop-up "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." and it is not going forward.
This is happening with both Standard as well as custom appsets.
And when we are clicking on "Add new task profiles" then we are getting below error,
System.Exception: 91: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

at OSoft.Consumers.Admin.Security50.frmTaskProfile.GetTaskProfileData()

at System.Windows.Forms.ControlNativeWindow.WndProc(Message& m)
at System.Windows.Forms.NativeWindow.Callback(IntPtr hWnd, Int32 msg, IntPtr wparam, IntPtr lparam)
Kindly help me in resolving the error and assign user to appset.
Regards,
Siva.
This was resolved after patching the BPC server and client components to SP7.

Hi Siva,
The problem you are facing , is most of the time due to inappropriate installation of apshell in the backend.
Also, this problem is same for both standard and customize apshell as customize apshell is just the copy of standard one. so this would also encounter the same results.
Solution:
Delete the installed apshell from backend completely and reinstalled it .
procedure:
login to backend with the user having right auhtorization for installing apshell (follow inst guide bpc 7.5 NW pg-22)
run the program UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT
select: delete the appset
clean the appset only.
Apshell will get deleted.
Then reinstall apshell properly as guided in the guide with the right(same) user.
It should work!
