cost center error while executing foreign exchange valuation

Hi Experts,

While executing FAGL_FC_VALU, we are getting error as cost center 1000 / xxxxxxx is blocked against revenue postings. I checked the same in KS03 for that cost center and in control tab it is blocked for postings. The other cost center which has the same set up has been posted. Error Message is KI 261.

Is there any other settings to be checked ?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Narayanan

Dear Sir,

The reason you recieve error KI261 as you are probably aware of is due to the cost center in question having on the second tab a lock against revenues.

X Actual revenues

As you are posting values that are considered revenues (cost element category 11 or 12) and the account assigned cost center is locked against revenues then you correctly receive error KI261.

Therefore you only options are to either allow revenue postings to the cost center in question by unticking the lock indicator

in KS02 (Cost Center Master Data), remove the cost center from the account assignment or post to a profit center etc that does not have an account assignment to a cost center that is locked against revenues.

It is not possible to post to a cost center where it is configured to be locked against revenues where such postings are considered revenues.

In the case where posting has happened to cost center the cost element used for the posting would not be of type revenue (celem category would not be 11 or 12)

Hi Narayanan,

Use KA03 > point to check, the setting in 'CElem category' of the respective cost element should also agree with the blocked indicator in cost center.

Hi John,

Thanks for your reply. I could not see any cost center assigned to that cost element. Is there any other way to check.

Thanks
