HOW TO GET A BLANK DATA BASE COPY FROM PRESENT DB

TO All Experts,

we have a problem about data base copy, thats mean when we try to get a blank copy of present data base some setting are missing with new blank copy, example- item group, item properties , default whs , price list ect,

so if t you can tell me the correct way of doing that task , pls tell me step by step to get a blank database copy

Hi,

If you are using SAP 8.8, then via "Solution Packager" you can create a fresh database without any transaction

"C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One Solution Packager\CompanyPackager.exe"

thanks for your reply, we use SAP B1 2007 , So will you ex plane me how to do that with 2007 Version

HI

If Copy Express Addon is installed,then

1.In SBO,Goto Tools->open Copy Express.

2.A new window will open.....

3.In that,you have to mention the base and target database,It will prompt you for username and password while you are mentioning the databse.

4.Then it will open a window which has configuration settings,

5.you just copy only the configurations...

Be sure that you are not selecting any transactions.

If not installed,install it from the installation package

Hi Saman.........

I would strongly suggest you to please use DTW in order to import all the masters from your legacy system to the New DB.

Sometime work with Copy express arise problems after configuraion of the Database........

The most known reason why should we not use Copy Express is it changes all the internal codes of the masters which will then create problem in getting reports...........

Hi saman,

To achive your gole you have to use "COPY EXPRESS".

When using Copy Express transfer all data without transaction.

Hello saman,

Please use data transfer work bench (DTW). this will help u in migrating data completely. copy express may sometimes fail to transfer some data.
