Display of key values

This question concerns query execution.

On the Variable Entry screen, there is the option in BEX analyzer to toggle the drop-down values between key and text. For example, either vendor number or vendor description is available for display, in the case of a vendor line item report.... this gives the user more flexibility in choosing the correcti variables.

How is this possible when the query is stored in the portal environment?

It seems that the option to toggle between key and text is not available when the query variables are being populated on the Variable Entry screen, when the query is run via the portal.

Is this correct ?

Hi Mr. Federick,

You can very well select both "text" & "Key" in your variable screen in PORTAL also.

Try creating web template for your query and execute in browser, you could see the key & text in portal.

Yes we are considering building web templates instead of simply attaching queries to the portal.

Hello Frederick,

In the Info Object properties go to the tab called Business Explorer. In the Display option change it to Key and Text or Text and Key based on your reqiurement. I guess this should solve your problem.

Yes, you can do it if you have loaded your text values to the target. Bex Designer , change the object display as Key & Text or Text and Key .
