Hi--

how to restrict Save option on Public folders but able to do it on My Favorites folder.

User can able to Refresh and Edit report but not able to Save / Save as it to PUBLIC FOLDERS.

After giving Edit Objects granted, it won't give choice to restrict Save on Public folders.

Tried many options nothing worked, please help me.

Why do you want to give Edit rights if you dont want them to save the report in Public Folder.

Select View-on-Demand access level and under general remove 'Add Objects to the Folder' and 'Edit Objects' rights. So that they wont be able to edit and add report to the public folder.

Else you can do as Ameet mentioned.

Hi,

if user have edit rights on the particular folder then user can edit the report and can save the existing report. You can not disable the save button in the report if user have edit rights.

You can restrict the user to save as report in the folder.

Thanks,

Hi,

The rights for individual objects and Folders are separate. Though you grant the edit option for Reports and only View on the Public Folders/All Folders the user shouldn't be able to save the report in public folders. He anyways has all rights on his Personal folder/Favorites.

So assign only View Access to All Folders and Edit right on the particular report. Hope this helps.
