MM and PM Integration

Dear all;

Here is a scenario where the MM and PM integration is required . I am detailing the process below step by step.

1) MM procures raw materials like Plates ,flanges ,angels etc .

2 ) PM request MM to issue the raw materials.

3) PM prepares different components for Moulds, with the help of the raw material received from MM.

4) PM treats the Components as nonvalueated item and stores all the Mould components in a common storage location,ie mould library.

5) PM issue from mould library and use the mould componets in the manufacturing of the mother mould.After dismantle of the mother mould the components is returned back to the common storage location.(mould libray).

Some one kinly suggest how to map this process in SAP

There's only one problem: preparation of components out of raw materials should normally be regarded as a production process, and done via a PP order. If you have PP in place, I suggest that you do it.

In case you don't employ PP, you could a have an incomplete workaround: issue the RM to a PM order, and receive to stock the components.

For the components choose a non-valuated material type. You can keep them in a storage location of your choice, and issue/return to/from production (either PP order, internal order, or cost center, or even a different S/L [in this case it is not an issue but only a transfer]).
