Dear Expert,

I will be really grateful if some one can provide me Step by Step process for Automatic Usage Decision, after Result recording.

(Snap Short will be appreciated).

Appropriate Points will be Distributed.

Hi Sandy,

I try to explain.

1. Go to QA17

2. Click on create variant

3. Give suitable name to this variant and press enter

4. Tick u201CFor All Selection Screensu201D then click on Continue

5. Put appropriate plant code and inspection type.

6. Tick either skipped lot, completed lots or include long term characteristic as per case. In your case it should be u201CAuto UD for completed lotsu201D since you have completed result recording.

7. Select correct UD code under usage decision option

8. Then go back and save. You will come back to initial screen of QA17. Here you can see the variant name that you have created.

9. Select it and click on schedule. If you want system to perform UD periodically click on schedule periodically option and choose appropriate one.

But remember following are few prerequisites for auto UD,

1. None of the characteristics has been rejected in the inspection lot.

2. All the required characteristics should have been confirmed and closed

3. No defect records exist for the inspection lot

4. The parameters for the automatic usage decision is defined in the Customizing application. In the QM plant settings, you define the time interval that must expire after an inspection lot is created and before an automatic usage decision can be made. This allows you to intervene manually in the automatic process.

You can use QA16 transaction also, if you wish to accord UD manually.
