Solman Diagnostics and BW Client

For Solution Manager Diagnostics does any know if it is possible to have Solman in client 100 and BI in client 001 in the same system? We are running into problems with the setup and wonder if this is even feasible or does solman and bi have to be in the same client to do diagnostics reporting?

When we originally installed SolMan we created client 100 via a client copy from 001 and have used that as our production client. Now that we are trying to implement solman diagnostics it appears that the BW portion really wants to reside in 001.

Hi Debbie,

There is no problem to have the BI client in a separeted client of the solman system. You should informe the BI client in the step 4 (user data) of the basic configuration at transaction SOLMAN_SETUP. Also, you should update the BI information in the "ABAP Connection" in the setup wizard for the managing system and rerun the setup.

Hi Debbie,

You should go to:

- SOLMAN_WORKCENTER

- Root Cause Analysis tab

- Diagnostics Setup

- Select Diagnostics System

- "Setup Wizard"

In the step "Definition of Setup Parameters" you will see the section "Wily Introscope" is there where you should update the BI client.
