Work Folw - Difference in Record Import and Record add

Hi All,

I know that in Mdm when there is a message via Import Server or IM then the Work Flow triggering action should be ''''Record Import'''' ..

And when you want to update data in DM and trigger the WF then i use '''Record Add'' as WF triggering action.

Now, I am using a portal front end screen where the user enters the data and submits to MDM.

My question is When i Put all my validations In MDM WF and WF triggering action as ''record add''..

Will the WF trigger when user submits in portal? or should i need to put the Work Flow Triggering action as ''Record Import''..

Did any one face this situation earlier..!!!!

Hi Eva,

Answer is Yes. "Record Add" should be WF trigger action in your case.

Hi Eva,

If the data from Portal is send to inbound folder of MDM through Proxy - PI , then the action should be Record Import

as the name says -

if using the IM - then use import

if using any other means (DM / APIs / WS) - use add

thats the diff
