Hi,

When the fleet management will comes into picture in PM and what is the role of it and how it can be executed.Please explain if possible in brief.

Hello Sudhakar,

Fleet management is typically used in scenario's where you have a large number of Vehicles etc and these are regarded as assets to the company.

Typical scenarios are Oil and gas industry, Pharma industries having large number of cars, trucks, etc vehicles being used by sales representatives, High level management, and also for to and fro freight management. This solution integrates with several modules within SAP including Enterprise asset management, Plant maintenance, Transport management etc.

Garages can be set up as functional locations, each vehicle as an equipment, create multiple / single strategy maintenance plans for preventive maintenance; these are scheduled based on mileage and/or time etc, You will be able to track the history of the vehicle, maintenance records, repairs, costs etc.
