how to know status of DB2 backup status

Hi,

here is my situation.

I have full access to my SAP ECC system.

I have very limited OS level access (no db2adm and no sidadm).

my impartition folks told me that a DB2 online backup was started (through TSM).

If I look in SAP's transaction DB12, I do not see anything dated today.

Can someone provide commands or log file at OS level that can help me see the backup status?

Thanks.

Are you able to check the db2diag using DBACOCKPIT?

Thanks Markus for your reply.

I have access to DBACOCKPIT.

I am getting asked the password of DB2DEC... I do not have access to DB2DEC neither.

One thing I have is access to OS command through program RSBDCOS0.

thanks.

Hi Eric,

Yes you can use this program and run below command to check backup status:

db2 list utilities show detail

Thanks

thanks.

I tried that command and got this output:

db2 list utilities show detail

ReturnCode= 2 list utilities show detail

SQL1611W No data was returned by Database System Monitor. SQLSTATE=00000

I was advised that backup was completed... so this may explain why this result is empty.

Hi,

Yes.

This command can be used to check backup and restore status. If it will not return anything like your case, then it means backup/restore is finished.

Thanks
