BEX Broadcaster compatibility windows7 and office 2010

Hi guys,

i have a question concerning Bex Broadcasting. We use two desktop Physical PCs with OS XP . The service is running on them. We would like to Upgrade to windows7 and Office 2010. Office 2010 is rolled out on them but windows 7 will be rolled out soon. i have compatibility concerns. The client PCs from where the chains will be exIs Bex Broadcaster working onecuted and also the PCs where the precalculation service is installed and the precalculation takes place will be updated to windows7. Is the broadcaster compatible with that? or are there any restrictions/limitations?

fine i am fine. Long time did not hear from you but i am happy to hear from you.

I have read the OSS that windows 7 is supported as a client pc for broadcasting to execute schedules.

But i am curious because i also found following link: please can you check:

Hi,

thanks at all. But in the meantime i have also found a wiki post from SDN.

Here Windows 7 is compatible as OS for the computer if some patches (FEP,GUI and precalc patch) are installed.

Can someone clarify?

Please, take a look into the note 1461398.

You can use an old workstation as Precalc. Server:

Software:

OS : Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008

Excel: 2003

Excel: 2007

Excel: 2010

Hardware:

Recommended: Pentium 4, 2.8 GHz,1 GB memory and 40 GB HDD.

Both Intel Pentium and AMD processors can be used.

Hello Murat,

I would like you to go through Note 1461398 specially the below section:

"This means that you can use Windows Vista or Windows 7 only as client PC OS to trigger the broadcasting

of workbooks (or open already precalculated workbooks), but not as OS on the Precalculation Server".

Moreover regarding Excel 2010 there are some limitations from microsoft side. Please refer to note: 1498919.
