How to generate a Solution Manager Key if System is not installed yet?

Dear Experts,

I'm in the midst of installing SAP ECC6 and it asked for Solution Manager Key before I could proceed, and I need to generate the Key in Solution Manager. However, the solution manager will only be able to generate the key based on preinstalled System ID.

How could I get the System ID or rather the Solution Manager Key if the system is not installed yet?

Dear Abraham,

go to tcode SMSY

click 'select object# button

pick any system

click 'generate installation/upgrade key' button

change sid, sytem number and message server to the values of your new system

generate key
