Performance impact using WebDynpro ABAP?

Hi,

We have recently started using WebDynpro ABAP (it was JAVA before) on our Portal for 'Travel Management'/XSS.

I have below question regarding the performance:

1) Since the load will be directly sent to ABAP server instead of Java it use to be before:

-- do we have to consider adding an App. server or adopt any performance related settings to manage this load?

Please do reply.

Thanks,

Hi,

I can't imagine there will be any performance impact on your PROD due to the shifting to the ABAP Web Application Server. We had mostly WD4Js too and shifted to WD4A, thus demanding more of our Prod's WAS. Didn't really have any performance issues. Considering load on business logic it will be the same either way, both, WD4J and WD4A Framework get their business logic from ECC Backend eventually.

So, yeah, I would confirm Baskaran's opinion.

regards, Lukas

I am not expert in this area. What i can say is that WAS - ABAP does not under perform WAS - JAVA. In my opinion you need not have to have additional hardware/software because of the WAS-ABAP.
