I've received an email today (update from a watched forum post) and it has the following text in the body:
!!! The SAP Virus scanner has removed a virus from this email !!!
The original content of this message part has been replaced
by this text because it tested positive for the following
virus(es):
SOPHOS_SAVI_ERROR_OLD_VIRUS_DATA
This notification is being sent to you. To avoid creating
a nuisance and to keep mail traffic under control, the
original sender of the message has NOT been notified.
However, you may want to notify the sender at your
discretion.
If you have further questions, please create a CSN ticket
under SA-MAIL.
Kind regards
SAP IT Internet Services
I'm guessing SOPHOS_SAVI_ERROR_OLD_VIRUS_DATA is not a real virus, but SAP is just using Sophos software and their database went haywire. Not sure how to notify the sender since SAP is the sender themselves. And what's the CSN ticket?
Has anyone else gotten an email like this and is there anything we should be concerned about?
I think lots of us are getting this. Are you using MS Outlook?

From David Branan on the Moderators Forum:
The virus scan message was due to a wrong proxy configuration
on 2 of 8 virus scanners of the SCN Mail Infrastructure.
The problem is fixed.

OK, good to know it's been solved.
We're using Lotus Notes, although I'm not sure it matters...

I had 100 of these, but the problem seems to be fixed now.
