Data Ownership Authorization

Hi All,

I want to apply data ownership authorization but there is nothing in employee list.In employee master data, I have done all settings.

Hi Deepak Tyagi,

Data Ownership Authorization is based on User that set up under Admin-Setup-General-User.

Employee master data can be linked to those users if you need. There is no direct relationship.

Hi Gordon,

I have done these settings but there is nothing in employee list at data ownership authorization window. If I do update any employee master data through dtw then its shows all employee list. but when I do login again then again the employee list is unvisiable.

Because employee list is not direct linked to data ownership, better just focus on user list.

Hi,

If I make any new employee manualy and attached with this any existing user code, It shows this employee in data ownership window.

But not showing existing employee on same window.

Hi Deepak,

Gordon is incorrect, the data ownership is based on the owner code which is drawn fron the employee master data.

have you initialised the data ownership under Administration> general Settings?

If so, it is very unusual for the employee list to disappear, I suggest you search the SAP notes in case it is a bug, or log a message with SAP

Julie is partly right, Data Ownership is based on Employee table.

However: Only employees who are linked to users in the Employee Master Data window can view this window and all other windows in the Authorizations folder.

That is why I emphasize the user setup. In order the employee list can be seen on the Data Ownership window, 2 conditions must be met:

1. Employees who are linked to users.

2. Employees who are at least one of document owner

TRy the same process on other patch level, it might be bug in the patch you are testing.

Hi Deepak

Make your user as a sales employee for those you want to provide data ownership authorzaton..

I jst added my users and those are added as a sales employee are coming on Employees list.

And must Create Employee master data for users

.
