Early Watch Reports are not getting generated.

Hi Experts,

I'm new to Solution Manager.

We were getting EWA report regularly till last month in solution manager.

But for the past one month the reports are not getting generated and I'm getting the following error message.

Kindly help

The data for this session is overdue. Data has not yet been transferred from the associated satellite system.

Go to the Service Data Control Center (transaction SDCCN) in the satellite system and check why the data has not been sent.

Typical sources of errors are:

The RFC connection for the SAP Solution Manager system is not working.

The 'Task Processor' background job, which collects the session data, has been changed.

Problems arose while data was being collected (see the detail log for the task that collects the session data).

A periodic 'SDCC Maintenance Package' task has not been scheduled to check whether your SAP Solution Manager system requests session data.

Session number: 1000000000704

Thanks,

Shanahas

Hi Shanahas,

Go to the satellite system in question and in transaction SDCCN, checks tabs "DONE" and "TO DO" for this service session number 1000000000704.

If you find it in tab "DONE" check its logs for any issue, mainly in the data transfer and check the RFC used to transfer the data.

If you do not find an EarlyWatch task with this number, ensure that you're running the "Maintenance Package" task everyday in the SDCCN of this system and also that the correct RFCs are maintained in the SDCCN -> Goto -> Settings -> Task specific -> RFC Destinations -> Settings.

For more information on how to set the SDCCN see note 763561.

Regards,

Daniel.

Hi Shanahas,

Please check the user assigned to RFC SM_SOMCLNT100_BACK in transaction SM59. This user should be unlocked in your solution manager and the password in the RFC must be the same in the solution manager. It looks like the problem is one of these points here.

Daniel.

Thanks Daniel. The problem is resolved. The issue was related to the RFC user.

Also thanks to Paul Babier who helped me to understand the issue.

Thanks,

Shanahas

Dear Shanahas

On the managed system you need to run a periodic task (Maintenance Package) daily.

This task does serveral things:

Refresh Service Definitions from the master SAP Solution Manager system or SAP

Refresh Sessions from all maintained systems

Delete old session and log data

This task performs all the steps needed to enable you to automate data collection for your services.

As you can see this task refreshes the service sessions, and that is the task that pulls the empty service sessions from solman.

This is covered in Best Practices documentation - http:service.sap.com/solutionmanagerbp

EWA Activation.PDF

Please schedule the SDCCN Maintenance Package task to run daily ( Periodic every day)

This will resolve.

Regards,

Paul
