Hi all
this is bugging me for a while and I couldn't find anything about this online. Hope someone here is able to help. This problem I had on differnet versions of CR, even with the new 13.0.1.220
When inserting a picture (actually a company logo) with white background, the white background is most of the time not white but grey in the viewer and on the print out.
I tried different file formants (gif, jpg, png, tiff), different color modes (greyscale, RGB) and different resolutions. All with no success.
Could you please let me know which file format, resolution and color scheme is best to integrate graphics into a report.
Your help is very much appreciated!
Hi Markus,
Is this a windows or WEB app?
Do you see the same in the designer? ( you can download a trial version of CR 2011 ) Using the .NET IDE uses the ActiveX viewer and is not available for distribution so you can not use it to test.
Thank you
Don

Hi,
thanks for your answer. Sorry. Forgot to mention. We use the windows .Net viewer. The picture in VisualStudio is OK. Just all prints (preview, streight to print, streight to PDF... ) show the grey instead of the white background.
Here is a screenshot of the Windows viewer with part of a logo. Sorry, could only use part of it as it is a customer of ours and had to "anonymise" it. But I think you'll get the idea.
There is an option "Retain Original Image Color Depth". In CRVS2010, right click on any empty space, from the pop up menu select Report | Report Options. Enable this option and the color should come out as you expect. It did for me.
