Please tell me how to define Day Types in Time Management?

Going a step ahead, how to define rule for Day type?

Like what is the meaning of 1 in that? and meaning of blank?

Please explain with an example.

what are the types of Days ? What am i suppose to enter in Day type, Short text and long text. Please explain with an example for better understanding.

Hi,

Day types are used to define the nature of a Holiday or a working day.

It defines if the employee assigned to a particular day is:

Work/paid

Off/paid

Off/unpaid

Off/special day

Hi,

Following are day types in SAP

Blank Work/paid

1 Off/paid

2 Off/unpaid

3 Off/special day

For working day we use day type 1 including saturday & sunday. On Saturday & Sunday we have working hours 0 so employee is not absent & is paid also if we put day type Blank.

Public holidays day type is 1 i.e. pay even if employee is absent.

Day type 2 is used for off which is not paid.

Day type 3 for special holidays e.g. company anneversary.

In time management day type is important for absence counting rule according to which employee absent days are counted.
