Upgrade to V6R1

Hello folks!

I need some help about upgrading from V5R4 to V6R1.

I've searched for SAP notes and another documents at IBM and found 3 important documents to doing this work:

1. SAP note 1148480 (IBM i: Known Issues with V6R1Mx)

2. IBM INFO APAR II14310 (Required PTFs for upgrading to V6R1MX)

3. IBM Redpaper 4293 (IBM i Program Conversion: Getting Ready for 6.1 and Beyond)

Do you know about another documents to read before?

And how about your experience, do you having any problems different of that is in SAP note or not? It will use more disk space at collection ASP?

Hi Andre,

I did the same upgrade in many systems:

My recommendations:

1. Install lastest PTFfor V5R4

2. The ASP is lower that 75 %

3. Then that you upgrade the system delete SQL Packages, with user <SID>ADM run command DLTR3PKG <SID>

I upgrade and had not any issue.

Hi André,

in addition to the documents that you have listed you may want to read the IBM document "Memorandum to Users", which can be found at http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v6r1m0/topic/rzaq9/rzaq9.pdf.

I would not expect major problems, V6R1 is around for quite a while, and all issues that we have found were documented in SAP note 1148480.
